Quarters Rules and Regulations

Supplies:

A quarter and a shot glass

Game Instructions:

Quarters is one of the most popular drinking games around today. This is true not because it requires dexterity, chance, and above all playability...no it's because everyone can usually scrounge up a quarter and a drinking glass rather than searching around for a deck of cards and or dice. But of course the preceding statement can also be found to be true to.

Anyhow, quarters can be played by any number of players but 3-6 people is probably the best number. You will need a large table (preferably hardwood) and plenty of chairs for your competitors to sit in. To see who goes first, someone must spin the quarter. When is stops, either Lincoln's nose or the Eagle's beak will be pointing at one player at the table. This person will start the game.

With quarter in hand and an empty glass in front of the player. She or he will try and bounce the quarter into the glass. If the quarter goes in then he/she may choose anyone at the table to take a sip of their drink. If the quarter bounces off the lip of the glass then he/she may choose to "chance it". In which case if the quarter doesn't go in this time, he/she must take a sip of their drink and then pass the quarter and glass to the person to their left.

To make things more exciting, rules are developed by the shooters only after making three quarters into the glass in a row (see rules). If any rules are broken, the guilty party/s must consume.
